Italian wine in Australia

Catherine Vale Vineyard - Broke, NSW

From a fleeting glance as you drive by its entrance, Catherine Vale Vineyard may seem like quaint church grounds as opposed to a James Halliday 4 STAR rated Vineyard. Which, of course once again, it is.

This fantastic (the best in my opinion), boutique vineyard is owned and controlled by the wonderful Bill and Wendy Lawson; two of the nicest people that you will ever get the chance to meet.

Catherine Vale prides itself on its Italian varietals - and so it should. Bill and Wendy have travelled and researched extensively in order to get them right, and got them right they have.

Located in Broke, a mere hop skip and a jump from the more commercial wineries, this vineyard integrates itself with the 'A little bit of Italy in Broke' festival, again, another must see in the Hunter. Click HERE to view a recent flyer and program of events for this delightful fiesta.

To view a complete list of their wares, visit their WEBSITE, and then plan your tasting in the most exquisite of tasting rooms, whilst looking back over the valley to Pokolbin and Lovedale. And if you wonder what the two parallel playing pitches are, ask away - BOCCE.

In my humble opinion, you would be mad not to drive away with a case of the wonderful BARBERA; to date I have consumed around 3 cases!

Jump to their WEBSITE to find exact directions, and also enquire as to the other great Italian wine growers in the area. You will not be dissapointed.
